It all began many, many years ago at a street cafe in Paris. Three friends were sipping Cafe au lait and wondering "What next?!". Europe was getting tiresome and they longed for the warm breezes and cool water of the Gulf of Mexico. One of them mentioned that it was a shame that Orange Beach didn't have a really vibrant lounge where the trendsetters could congregate, like the places they'd grown to love in Berlin, Rome, London, and yes, Paris.

Then the idea hit them, they had more than 30 years in the food and beverage industry. They liked to mingle in the finest clubs. By golly, they'd do it. They would create a luxury lounge. They asked their waiter if he thought a premier lounge in the U.S. was a good idea. "Mais Oui!" , was the response, That was it!" The VIP Lounge was born.

After the concept was formalized, they got busy traveling the world (again) in search of the hottest ideas to create the most enjoyable design, decor and atmosphere possible so everyone could come and experience it together. The location was a natural choice. The VIP Lounge would grace Canal Road to accommodate its recent growth and centralized location in Orange Beach.

Then came the great gathering of wonderfully talented craftsmen to create the world designs they had visualized: a custom curved mahogany bar with the illuminated yellow onyx top, custom gold flaked granite tables, trendy restrooms, the best sound system available and the largest entertainment room on the entire island.

The land, originally owned by John Coley and his late wife of Atmore, Alabama, was cleared for work to begin in early 2003. The next few months were spent preparing the site, pouring foundations and carefully erecting the structure. By summer, the specialists moved in and crafted the unique finishes that have drawn raves from the community.

From a tiny cafe in Paris to the beautiful shores of Orange Beach, three friends have seen their dream realized. They hope you enjoy visiting the VIP Lounge as much as they have enjoyed creating it, and they invite you to fill out a comment card so they can be the very best at what they do, "Provide a place of pleasure for you and your friends to meet."
